My Terms of service for coms:

* The artwork was created by me, therefore I have full rights to the uploaded artwork. This basically means that I own the original art and so can upload it as and where I like. (this includes the right to make prints and merchandise.) You have partial rights to the artwork. This means that you can use it for personal things but not to sell on, whether it be a design or a full art piece you may not sell it on in either case. You are free to upload it to other sites so long as full credit to me is given and you do not claim the art as your own.
- (tl;dr: commissions are for non-commercial use by you only.)

* I may alter the price of a piece depending on the amount of detail involved as I must partially judge cost by time put into the piece. If you request a commission and I ask for more than what is on my standard price list, this is why.

* Please pay attention to the list below of things I will not draw and don't request anything from that list, they're on the list because I am not as comfortable drawing them as I am other subjects.

* I will accept money or occasionally Deviantart points as payment, but money is preferred, and points will be worked out at 120  to every £1.00.

* I will always accept at least PARTIAL payment BEFORE beginning a commission, no exceptions. If it is a very expensive piece, we can work out a payment plan.

* There are NO refunds after the art is completed, so please make sure you are clear with what you want from your request. I will refund if after the sketching stage you are unhappy with the image and would like to go back on the purchase, HOWEVER, I will be free to use the sketch as the base for future artwork.

* Do NOT ask me to draw characters you do not own unless they are a gift for their original creator, I don't want to be getting into any copyright messes!

* Please consider that I may not be able to complete your art instantaneously as like you I also have a life outside of the internet. I always endeavour to get things one as quickly as possible without compromising quality. Average time to completion from start to finish is 3 days - 3 weeks.

* Clear, updated visual references or a very detailed written reference must be provided by you before I will proceed in commission process. I cannot work as efficiently from a very vague description.

* I reserve the right to issue a refund and cancel a commission due to poor communication, rude or inappropriate behaviour, or the inability to communicate in effective English (my native language).

* I reserve the right to reject any commission for any reason.

* I retain the right to display all commissioned work on any personal website, gallery, or journal. If the commissioned work is a time-sensitive gift then I will delay public showcase at request.

* I may recycle sketches and preparatory works that were rejected by the Commissioner for other commissions or personal works.

* I'm very sad to have to add this clause in... but here it is: In the case of chargebacks for work that has been completed, I will remove the artwork purchased by the scammer from all sites it has been uploaded on, open a case with paypal to get the money back, and post 'artist beware' warnings to try and prevent my artist friends from also being scammed. I will recycle the initial sketch into another piece for a genuine paying customer, or if the piece was a character design, the character will become my intellectual property available for resale (If I have taken the time to design something and you choose to scam me, the character is effectively my intellectual property and I will not tolerate crooks!)

* The Client must read, understand and agree to all the above terms before entering into an agreement with the Artist. By sending payment, the Client agrees to the above terms.

* To purchase art, you must give me your paypal account email so that I can send you an invoice. This makes tracking my taxes easier and prevents any money being accidentally repaid by paypal's delightful 'no shipping needed' feature that has stung me once or twice  before.

* When in the 'work in progress' stages (during sketching ONLY) you will be shown the progress and given the opportunity to request tweaks TWICE free of charge. Any tweaks beyond this will incur a charge of £5 per change.
